Traditional Reception Packages
40 – 120 Guests
Our Traditional Package is for the couple seeking a more formal, sit down event. One where each course is served while guests are seated in our beautiful Melba room. Consisting of roaming canapés, beautifully plated entrées, mains and dessert dishes.
Our contemporary menu is a stunning selection of locally sourced and seasonal items created by Head Chef Ben Murphy.

- Five hours of beverages (Cuvée, Rosé, choice of two white and two red wines, local and imported beer, soft drinks, tea & automatic coffee machine)
- Four chef selected canapés served during pre-dinner drinks

Can I have my ceremony and reception at Balgownie Estate?
Absolutely! Balgownie Estate offers beautiful Yarra Valley ceremony locations and versatile reception spaces, allowing you to host both your ceremony and reception at one of the finest Yarra Valley wedding venues.
Do you offer outdoor and indoor ceremony options?
Yes. Ceremony locations include our Front Lawn, Deck, and Vines Marquee, all featuring sweeping vineyard views. An indoor wet‑weather backup is available within the Vines Marquee should weather conditions require it.
What types of wedding packages are available at Balgownie Estate?
Balgownie Estate offers a thoughtfully curated range of wedding packages, including Traditional, Feasting, and Cocktail styles. Each package can be tailored to reflect your vision for a seamless and memorable celebration.
Can Balgownie Estate accommodate large wedding parties?
Yes. Our Yarra Valley venue, including the Melba Room and Anderson Room, can accommodate up to 180 guests for a cocktail‑style reception or 120 guests for a seated reception.
Do you provide catering and beverages?
Yes. All weddings include in‑house catering, with seasonal menus aligned to your chosen package. Beverage packages feature beer, spirits, and a selection of Balgownie Estate wines. Couples are welcome to supply their own wedding cake.
As a fully licensed venue, external alcohol is not permitted.
Do we have to use approved suppliers?
You are welcome to choose your own suppliers. The only exception applies to cold sparklers and fog effects, which must be arranged through an approved supplier. Our team can also provide a list of recommended suppliers.
Can I bring my dog to be part of our wedding?
We are happy to welcome dogs for wedding ceremonies only. Unfortunately, dogs are unable to stay onsite following the ceremony.
Registered service dogs are welcome.
Is Balgownie Estate a child‑friendly venue?
Yes. Children are welcome at Balgownie Estate. Please include them in your final guest numbers so appropriate arrangements can be made.
How much is the deposit?
A 25% deposit is required, followed by the second instalment due three months before the wedding, and the final instalment due one month prior to the big day.
Are taxis available from your venue?
Taxi’s & Ubers are not readily available, we encourage you to pre book or stay on site.
Balgownie Estate have partnered with Beau’s Bus Charters, a trusted local provider known for reliable, comfortable, and professional transport services throughout the Yarra Valley and beyond.
How far in advance should we book?
Wedding dates often book well in advance. We recommend enquiring 12 to 18 months ahead, particularly for popular spring and autumn dates. To check availability, explore packages, or arrange a site inspection, please contact the Balgownie Estate team who will be delighted to assist.
